Building Psychological and Physical Science - Youth Psychological and Physical Health Promotion (example of an issue).
Explanation of contents
The research methods and approaches to psychology, health studies and nutrition are exchanged based on each faculty's research and practical activities, with the objective of building an integrated "psychological and physical science". This is the reason we are planning a symposium. We are providing the ‘promotion of health in the young’ as an example of one of the issues to be addressed by psychological and physical science. Research conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labor & Welfare Research Group revealed that the preliminary group of lifestyle-related diseases in high school students rose by 40%. In order to promote the raising of the degree of students’ and youth physical and mental health, we will create, put into practice and evaluate a specific program. We will then consider the problems that arise from the broader perspective of psychological and physical science. Providing healthy menus (improving university cafeterias), daily continued exercise, counseling (autogenic training) etc. are all examples of practical activities. Teaching staff from the Faculty of Psychological and Physical Science are carrying out practical activities in the clinical psychology educational counseling room of this university's health center, thus interaction and cooperation is important. In the process of creating this program and putting an evaluation cycle into practice, the building of psychological and physical science becomes more tangible.
